We Attend School Meetings
Schedule a school meeting after psychological testing.
If your child begins to struggle in school, psychological testing is generally the first step in clarifying your child's needs. The results are often discussed at a school meeting, such as an IEP team meeting or a 504 meeting.
Psychologists at The Pratt Center have attended hundreds of school meetings throughout the Bay Area since 2000. We explain psychological testing results at school meetings, clarifying appropriate placement, services and accommodations.
School meetings can be frustrating and intimidating for parents, and these strong emotions can make it difficult to make sound educational decisions. For these reasons, parents often ask psychologists to attend school meetings with them. If an evaluator attends the school meeting, then data from the psychological testing can help to clarify the child’s needs and focus the meeting on practical interventions that can address the problems effectively.
The evaluator can help the family and school team to reach reasonable compromises regarding educational accommodations and special education services that are appropriate for the child.
