Scheduling a School Observation

School observations begin at 8:30 am, 10:30 am or 12:30 pm. In the online schedule, appointments are listed a half hour earlier to allow for driving time.

Parents should not come to the observation. For an elementary school child, it is better to observe without your child's awareness. For middle and high school students, it is generally better to inform the child in advance to respect their privacy. We do not observe college students.

Parents are responsible for contacting the school to schedule the observation. Often the district will want someone to observe with the evaluator, and this needs to be arranged in advance. The school will likely request a release of information form to allow school staff to speak with the evaluator.

School observations are challenging to schedule, and options may change until one meeting time is confirmed.
